Quotes from other films in TSoN

To revisit a thread from the old forum:

First, one of my old favorites (which was my own, I admit unashamedly):

Jenner: You get out! (Swats Mrs. Brisby) I've had enough! (Draws sword)

Mrs. Brisby: (On her back, wagging her finger at him) Shame on you, you...macho s***head!

(inspired by "Tootsie")

One inspired by that same scene:

Mrs. Brisby: You will all die unless you leave the farm tonight!

Jenner: Lies!

Mrs. Brisby: You can't handle the truth!

(from "A Few Good Men")

BTW, here's the link to the original topic:

Well, I don’t really have much ideas here, but I guess maybe when Mrs. Brisby comes before Nicodemus. It’s quoting Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope when he sees Artoo in the rocks.

(Mrs. Brisby steps into the room)

    NICODEMUS: Hello there.

    (Mrs. Brisby does not answer.)

NICODEMUS: Come here, my little friend. Don’t be afraid.

Not quite inspiring or unique, but that’s one idea. Another, actually is a little bit more crazy—even though it might make plenty of sense— comes from The Fox and the Hound.

BRISBY: You will all die unless you leave the farm tonight!

    JENNER: Lies!

BRISBY: Are you calling me a liar, you muddled-headed rat?! I heard it myself!

Well, that’s what I’ve got more or less.

  • I just saw “Logan’s Run” for the first time in ages and thought this would be a good line to insert where Mrs. B meets Nicodemus. As she approaches tentatively, he says:

Overwhelming, am I not? Are you, too, startled? Am I too removed from your kin?

Nicodemus: Zydrate comes in a little glass vial!

Mrs Brisby: A little glass vial?

Rat chorus: A little glass vial!

Nicdoemus: And the little glass vial goes into the gun like a battery! And the Zydare gun goes somewhere against your anatomy, and when the gun goes off it sparks and you're ready for surgery!

I bet no one will get that reference...It's from Repo! the Genetic Opera

  • ^This movie needs more attention. If you like musicals like Rocky Horror Picture Show or Little Shop of Horrors, give it a watch.

  • Can’t believe I didn’t think of this until now:

In a non-existent scene but one that would come after the house is raised from the mud, Auntie Shrew emerges from the house, looks around at the assembled rats and declares:

    “This house is clean.”

(Inspired by “Poltergeist”, which was released 4 weeks prior to TSoN)

  • Nicodemus: The stone flying in front of you fills you with determination.

Mrs. Brisby used the stone and saves her children

    (From Undertale) n.n

  • Y'know, it just came to me that The Exorcist and SoN could be combined quotewise as both stories involve curing a child from some ailment/demon with the struggle of a single mother.

But nah, that would be inappropriate for this forum. :P

This reminded me for some reason of a quote or line from a horror movie if I remember correctly where the parent was in this room or somewhere defeating this demon or entity that became something else. At the same time, a voice could be heard coming from somewhere that was saying something like, "It is a battle of energy/entity, show 'em that your love for him/her (referring to perhaps a child) is stronger and that the light can beat the darkness." and then the entity unable to win was defeated.

I don't remember which horror movie it was even though it wasn't the Exorcist. I thought maybe it was House at first, but found that involved a Skeleton Big Ben and it being told "I beat you! And this godd**n house!" at the end of it. I even checked through Poltergeist even though that involved a blond hair child getting taken by the entity, but couldn't find what I was remembering in there. I also was checking through a number of others and tried a search for the quote itself, but couldn't find anything that is a match.

I would like to know where I was remembering this quote from because I could imagine the demon/entity being a manifestation of Jenner who is pretty pissed over his defeat at the paws of Justin, and is going after the Brisby Children in response to Mrs. Brisby's interference of his plans as well as wanting to exterminate Jonathan's descendants. The voice being heard that was saying, "It is a battle of energy/entity, show 'em that your love for him/her (referring to perhaps a child) is stronger and that the light can beat the darkness." being none other than Jonathan possibly looking after his wife and children from beyond the grave. I'm also thinking that Mrs. Brisby could be using the 'Courage of the Heart' here in which she must have previously escaped from this 'hell' she was in to get her tail to and make a beeline straight to Thorn Valley to retrieve the amulet from Justin in order to defeat Jenner once and for all. It could very well be that Timothy Brisby was getting possessed by the entity and Mrs. Brisby is at it again being the heroin in fighting for his life and this time from what she could call a muddled-headed rat who has come back from the grave.

  • ^ EM: Not being that great a horror-movie buff, I wouldn't know the one you have in mind; but, for those who are interested, here's the link to the same topic on the old forum (disregard the one in the first post in this thread):

  • I kinda want to quote that one scene in Casino with De Niro and Pesci and apply it to Jenner and Justin. The one in the desert. Cause you know, that would be funny? I guess?

  • Nicodemus: It SLEEEEEEEEPS...HAHAHA!

From Spiderman: Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin

    Jenner referring to Justin:

"Yes, it's true. This man has no d**k."

    From Ghostbusters (the original)

    TeamJenner

Edit: Hashtags now bold your phrase? Huh...

  • I think that would make more sense for them if it is said as "Yes, it's true. This rat (or rodent) has no d**k." since they're rats.

I personally, I think they'd call themselves man/men or woman/women interchangeably with rat. Lots of people have done this as well.
